چکیده

The Earth is bombarded by ultrarelativistic particles, known as cosmic rays (CRs). CRs with energies up to a few PeV (=1015 eV), the knee in particle spectrum, are believed have Galactic origin. One or more factories of CRs, PeVatrons, must thus be active within our Galaxy. direct detection protons from their sources not possible since they deflected magnetic fields. Hundred TeV ?-rays decaying ?0, produced when collide ambient gas, can provide decisive evidence proton acceleration knee. Here we report discovery High Altitude Water Cerenkov (HAWC) observatory ?-ray source, HAWC J1825-134, whose energy spectrum extends well beyond 200 without break cutoff. source found coincident giant molecular cloud. gas density high 700 cm?3. While nature this extreme accelerator remains unclear, accelerated several colliding likely produce observed radiation.

Search for >200 TeV photons from Cygnus X-3 in 1988 and 1989.

We find no evidence for an excess from the direction of Cygnus X-3 either in ordinary showers or in muon-poor showers. For energies above 2 X 10 eV, with 90% confidence, we find the excess flux of cosmic rays from the direction of Cygnus X-3 to be less than 1.3 X 10 cm s and the flux of photons (assuming they produce muon-poor showers) to be less than 1. 5 X 10 cms. This limit is substantially ...

TeV neutrinos and GeV photons from shock breakout in supernovae.

We show that as a Type II supernova shock breaks out of its progenitor star, it becomes collisionless and may accelerate protons to energies >10 TeV. Inelastic nuclear collisions of these protons produce an approximately 1 h long flash of TeV neutrinos and 10 GeV photons, about 10 h after the thermal (10 MeV) neutrino burst from the cooling neutron star. A Galactic supernova in a red supergiant...

TeV photons and Neutrinos from giant soft-gamma repeaters flares

During the last 35 years three giant flares were observed from so-called Soft Gamma Repeaters (SGR’s). They are assumed to be associated with star-quakes of pulsars accelerating electrons and, possibly, protons to high energy in the huge magnetic fields as inferred from the observations. Because of this and the observation of non-thermal emission it has been speculated that they may be cosmic r...

Evidence for TeV Emission from GRB 970417a.

Milagrito, a detector sensitive to very high energy gamma rays, monitored the northern sky from 1997 February through 1998 May. With a large field of view and a high duty cycle, this instrument was well suited to perform a search for TeV gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). We report on a search made for TeV counterparts to GRBs observed by BATSE. BATSE detected 54 GRBs within the field of view of Milagrit...

Absorption of TeV Photons and κ-Deformation of Relativistic Symmetries

It is shown how the increase of classical threshold for hard photon absorption on far infrared background can be achieved with the use of deformed kinematics, described by κ-deformation of Poincaré symmetries in bicrossproduct basis. We consider the dependence of absorption threshold on the scattering angles for ingoing photons as well as outgoing e − e pair. We discuss in detail the threshold ...
